Can't We All Just Get Along?
My Current Mood: The current mood of crimsondove at www.imood.com

Wow. What an incredible day at G-Fry's site. Let me give you the skinny for those who did not want to read through the 155+ comments.

G-Fry graciously (and bravely) offered to allow seven of us to Guestblog on his site this week. My day is on Friday and I can't wait. Yesterday, it was Geoffrey's turn. Things got a little ugly when this Mass. native made mention of "Homo Marriage" and the public officials breaking the law.

This turned into a bitter blog comment war. Of course, yours truly was in the front of it. "Oh... pretty fire... can I play with it?"

155+ blog comments later, it was decided that Geoffrey would not change his stance on legitimizing my "deviant" yet "natural" behaviour, but couldn't for the life of him figure out how to "fix" me. He also eluded to Sarah not turning out as a strong and independant woman, but "time will tell how your behaviour effects her".

Truly, I think he was just trying to get a rise out of me. We all know he was a complete idiot for saying, even thinking, some of the ludicris thoughts he posted in his blog comments. But it did something... well, interesting. It made be believe again in the fight I have been so involved in over the past few years. If anything, it made me a stronger proponent of same-sex marriage, of building a family within the confines of the love and committment it brings.

It also brought to light the feeling of others who I had only brief blog relationships with, who turned out to be amazing supporters. I love you all for it.

And I love you, Lorene and Toni, for standing up for me, being my long time (15 years or more) friends and confidants. You love us, support us, and stand by us without judgement. Especially to Lorene, who also stood by as my attendant at my wedding, and helped me through a very wonderful yet stressful day. You guys are the best.

No one, not even Geoffrey, can take my love of my family away from me, or steal the wind from my sails.

So, in conclusion of yesterdays blog-war, I want to extend my heartfelt thank you to Geoffrey. Your words sparked something in me that may have been waning for a while: The desire to succeed in this fight. Your ignorance fed my resolve. Your hatred and bigotry only served to strengthen me.

You haven't heard the last of me. I am weary no more.
